Designing a Log or Timber Frame Home

Pristine design and planning service is oriented to custom designed buildings. In fact, we have never built exactly the same home twice. We want to stimulate your imagination. The concept design is the culmination of your ideas, desires and requirements, as well as the input of a skilled designer who has the ability to draw out the ideas and styles that you would like to incorporate in the design of your home. Preliminary Drawings

Finally the Preliminary Drawings have been agreed upon the completion of Construction drawing begins. At this stage you know exactly what to expect prior to construction. At this stage major changes in design are costly, every effort is made to ensure that the preliminary design is as close as possible to the requirements outlined at the concept stage and that all concerns have been dealt with.

During the completion of Construction Drawings an exchange of information between designers, engineers as well as contractors is established to facilitate the completion of high comprehensive set of drawings that are able to smooth out the construction process from start to finish.

Contact between parties is continued to provide support and information to on-site contractors. This process provides a solid foundation in the process of building your home.

Engineering may be carried out by one of our local licensed Engineers, or by selecting one form our wide network of Engineers throughout North America.

The latest in "computer aided drafting" enables us to make changes to plans quickly and accurately, communicate drawings directly to engineers and architects, and easily switch between metric and imperial dimensions. We can also provide 3D sketches, models, and fly thru's for conceptual visualization and clarification of complicated details.

If an Architect has already been chosen we are able to work closely with the firm and are able to provide for them details as requested.

Concept/Preliminary Plans

Concept and Preliminary plans typically include:

• Floor plans that are easily legible and give relevant information such as room sizes etc. A concept plan shows the possible furniture location and facilities in such things as room "layout" and a better understanding of the room sizes.
• Elevations of two (2) or more sides (front and side) showing head heights and roof pitch.
• A cross section taken from the central point in the home showing the interior and how the exterior reflects in style to the interior.

Other Products Offered thru Pristine

• Pristine can custom cut wood using our sawmill. We use quality material selected from the forest floor to your door or you can purchase kiln dried material to have sawn to the size you require for your project.
• Pristine can offer custom peeled logs. You could purchase logs from our parent company or you can ship your logs to our site. It is cost effective to purchase the logs from our sort yard to save the trucking costs. The other advantage to peeled logs is you can have larger loads shipped on one truck.
• We can offer quality handcrafted custom cabinets built with hand selected kiln dried material. We can create elegant and functional cabinetry for all residential and commercial projects.
